Future of the Urban Economy. Making a Stake on the Future

Cities are the key drivers for modern economy. According to Brookings Institution, top one hundred urban agglomerations produce roughly 16 percent of the global GDP, while housing only 4 percent of the world’s population. Being the growth hubs for the world economy, cities are facing global risks brought about by the modern technological, social and cultural trends. The traditional economy is undergoing rapid transformation, as new business models change whole economic sectors almost overnight. These challenges call for a prompt and efficient response from the cities that are entering a new round of competition for best talent, investment and other resources.
