Digital Economy. Infrastructure for Smart City

The digital transformation ongoing in Russia and in the world bears upon many sectors that are densely concentrated in cities: housing utilities, energy, transport, healthcare and services. Digital platforms allow for more efficient management of municipal systems and resources, development of innovative infrastructure, creating comfortable urban environment and providing high quality of life for the citizens. Urban digital platforms are typically developed in cooperation with global tech corporations. Yet generic solutions offered by these companies are not always tailored to the city’s unique conditions, so the cities are pressed to develop a local network of innovative tech companies.

  • What are the benefits for the city of implementing digital platforms and new business partnerships models?
  • In what ways should city administrations cooperate with global corporations and local tech companies to develop digital infrastructure?
  • What are the next steps for developing digital infrastructure in Russian cities?
