Master of Urban Management. Education for Urban Leaders

The scale and the pace of change in modern megalopolises set new requirements to competencies and qualifications of city managers. The focus on creating and developing a convenient urban environment drives the demand for professionals with knowledge and management skills in such diverse fields as technological change, architecture, social and cultural programming, and healthcare. In response to this demand, educational institutions have launched a variety of new programmes in city leadership and transformation.

  • Which competences are essential for city managers today?
  • What are the qualifications of the graduates of the new «urban» education programmes?
  • Should such programmes have their own agenda or should they evolve in response to the market?
  • What are the new challenges and tasks to which future urban leaders will have to attend?
