Cities that have become attractive to the creative class not only receive benefits, but also face new challenges. The main one is economic and social inequality. Richard Florida notes that creativity and innovation improve the quality of life only for a small percentage of people — those lucky enough to have money and education, while other citizens become poorer and are displaced from the city centre to the periphery.
