PRINT MARKET RAUBDRUCKERIN

The open Festival Programme of the Moscow Urban Forum this year includes a performance by the Raubdruckerin street artists. The Raubdruckerin (German "pirate printer") art group from Berlin makes t-shirts, sweatshirts and bags with original prints they make using manhole covers, ventilation holes and public drains as print molds. The urban design elements in their work form guerrilla prints with a utilitarian design. The creators of these experimental printworks look at them as traces of the cities they came from. The art group focuses mainly on exploring city surfaces, and searching out minor details that best translate into real urban design items. The artists apply paint directly on the street to transfer the city's unique geometric patterns onto the clothing and bags of passer-bys. Their prints have won them fame thanks to their work in Amsterdam, Lisbon, Paris and other European cities.

German artist Emma-France Raff will present this “Reverse Street Art” show in Moscow and will also give a lecture on street art culture at MUF FEST 2018. Zaryadye Park guests can even score a bag with a print by the group, if they can complete a secret task. So stay on your toes! Others will also get the chance to decorate their clothes or bag with a unique pattern.

Moscow Urban Forum will donate two designer cast-iron manhole covers for the performance to be installed before the Forum starts in mid-July. MUF FEST 2018 in Zaryadye is open to the public, and will start on 17 July 17 and run through 22 July.
