Cybersports in Stadiums. New Sports Formats

Today cybersport is one of the fastest growing industries. According to Newzoo, in 2018 the industry will grow by 38% and hit 1 billion dollars in revenue. Russia is gaining recognition as a prominent cybersport market: it is the largest market in Europe both in terms of size and value. As most of the e-sport players and fans live here, the cities become the primary venue for various cybersport initiatives. Today e-sport competitions gather thousands of people and can rival traditional sports. They attract tourists and fill the recreational venues and sports arenas.

  • Can cybersport become a significant driver for the city's economy?
  • Do online sports help diversify the business of sports venues?
  • What factors can make cybersport a successful industry in the city?
