Sir Edward Lister is Deputy Mayor of London for Policy and Planning. He advises the Mayor on strategic planning applications and is the Mayor's Chief of Staff. His responsibilities include budget and administration management, control over the implementation of priority tasks and organisation of all events in the city administration. The most famous projects with his participation include the draft London Plan and optimisation of the tax system on public infrastructure. Before becoming Deputy Mayor, Edward Lister spent 19 years as the head of the London borough of Wandsworth and was widely known for his active civil position. Thanks to Lister’s efforts, Wandsworth has been recognised as one of the most prosperous areas in England; he was also able to adjust the borough's taxation system in accordance with the needs of the local community. He was knighted in the Queen’s 2011 Birthday honours list.
