Erion Veliaj was educated in USA and Britain; he founded the MJAFT! (Enough!) movement in 2003 and headed it until 2007. After this Veliaj joint the European Stability Initiative. From 2013 till 2015, he served as the Minister of Youth and Social Welfare and successfully implemented a number of social reforms including pension and vocational training reforms, reorganised the social security and employment systems. Veliaj is a member of the Socialist Party of Albania where he serves as the Secretary for Youth and Migration. In 2013, he was elected as a Member of the Albanian Parliament, and in 2015 — as the Mayor of Tirana, Albania’s capital.
