BUSarchitektur is credited with the master plan of the Matadero district in Buenos Aires, the master plans of the campuses of the Medical University of Graz and the Vienna Economic University. All the projects of the bureau are characterized by innovative technological approaches. One of the main tools they use is the platform Urban Menus. The software helps shape the project’s vision and develop scenarios for the use of 3D visualization areas. Specialists can put themselves in the place of residents walking through the square, passing through streets, or passing the corner by bicycle. In addition, the platform assesses the environmental impacts of architecture across all sustainability dimensions – environmental, social, and economic. As part of the session, BUSarchitektur co-founder Laura Spinadel will present the benefits of a technological approach to architecture and share the results of the Urban Menus platform.
  • How can technology optimize the design and construction of architecture, what are the effects on cities and their residents?
  • How did the Urban Menus platform change the way that professionals view architecture? How did it affect the process and the outcome?
