Mental Health Kit. Psychological Support for Citizens

#Showcase #Urban Health
02 July
15:45–16:45
Urban Health Hall
Long traffic jams, rush hours in public transport, and the eternal fear of being late to work lead to the deterioration of mental health. Depression affects 264 million people, i.e., one in four people globally, and this number has increased by almost 30% during lockdown. The main challenge for city governments and communities is to teach people how to talk about mental health issues and how to provide psychological first aid. Megacities that have realized the importance of maintaining their citizens' mental health have launched individual and collective trainings, psychological support programs, and have used various tools like public service announcements to overcome mental illness stigma.
  • How are city administrations attracting the attention of citizens to mental health issues?
  • Which psychological support programs are being launched in cities?
  • How should city administrations, large corporations, and communities work together to improve citizens' psychological health?
