Turn Words Into Actions. International Conferences as Drivers for Urban Development

#Conference #Transformation of Urban Technologies and Science
02 July
15:45–17:00
Vega Hall
The first Moscow Urban Forum took place ten years ago and has since become the main platform for discussing Moscow’s urban development agenda. Since the first event, Moscow has changed in several ways. Almost all of Moscow’s major transformations have been discussed at different stages of the Forum with the participation of Moscow's top officials and leading international experts. Today, urban conferences are organized in all countries and regions of the world, shaping a unified conceptual, informational and media space. The year 2020 was a challenge for all big international events, many of which were canceled or held online for the very first time. How are urban events changing the urban space and how are they surviving the global quarantine? What are the next development stages for urban forums to maximize their benefits for modern cities and their key stakeholders?
  • What is the role of urban conferences in urban development and in promoting the urban development agenda?
  • What benefits do cities and businesses see from urban conferences?
  • What kind of information agendas do conferences create? How can effective communication be established?
  • How have international conferences and forums adjusted to the global quarantine and what lessons have they learned from this experience?
