Today, global cities and small towns are committed to greening the streets and improving coastal zones. A program to improve the embankments of the Moskva River is being implemented in Moscow. Barcelona is turning roads into walkable streets and parks, while Singapore is following a long-established concept of a blue-green city in its urban planning policies. 2020 showed why it is essential to take good care of our health. Future urban planning agendas should consider the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. What are 'blue-green' cities – the reaction of the urban environment to the current global challenges, or one of the models for organizing urban spaces?
  • How does the development of blue-green infrastructure address the current climate and environmental challenges that cities face?
  • How are integrated greening and water infrastructure development programs implemented in leading megacities?
  • What types of ‘blue-green’ public areas will be most useful in future urban planning solutions?
