Green Priorities. Investments in Renovation and Modernization of the Infrastructure

#Panel discussion #Transformation of Urban Economy and Business
02 July
15:45–16:45
Sirius Hall
Sustainability has ceased to be a purely visionary dream, becoming part of the daily policymaking in cities and companies. Accounting for environmental safety and social responsibility helps change approaches to administration and encourages investments in a sustainable infrastructure. Infrastructure is a key factor of economic growth, also improving quality of life and attracting great investments into future development. Infrastructural renovations and modernization require funding: investments, shares and bonds. Green bonds are emerging as a new market tool. They promote an eco-friendly approach to project implementation and help build a sustainable infrastructure, which, in turn, have a positive impact on energy efficiency and environmental conservation. In 2021, the city of Moscow became the first subject of the Russian Federation to issue green bonds.
  • Which infrastructure funding strategies will prove the most effective?
  • Which socially responsible investment tools are favored by leading businesses? Which factors ensure the sustainable development of small and medium-sized businesses?
  • Will green bonds be profitable? How can we encourage more companies to support social and environmental initiatives?
