Both organised and individual initiatives seeking to raise living standards and improve quality of life attract more and more supporters. New formats are emerging for citizen engagement, which promote responsible citizenship, including conscious consumerism, crowdfunding, charity, public activism, and design of open environments. These projects elevate the level of citizen satisfaction and happiness, regardless of social, cultural or other differences.
