The Running Hearts is a signature city sports event, a charity marathon the aim of which is to raise funds for extending the project for giving early help to small children with developmental disorders and their family members. The project is implemented by the Naked Hearts Foundation to help the children within the framework of the programme "Each Child Deserves a Family". The main objective of the Naked Hearts charity organization is to create a system of free services for families who are bringing up children with developmental disorders, and to construct inclusive playgrounds and parks for children of all ages and abilities.
The marathon raised 50 million rubles for the Running Hearts which were all transferred to the Naked Hearts Foundation. In the 2015 and 2016, runs a record number of Olympic and Paralympic champions, theatre and cinema celebrities, performers, journalists, businessmen, as well as corporate running teams, press and TV took part. In 2016, 25 Olympic medalists were on the starting line, which enabled 2 Russian records to be established: "The largest number of Olympic medalists to take part in the run" and "The run with the participation of Olympic medalists with the largest total number of medals".
