Children's architecture club Horses on the Balcony is a creative space organised by a practising architect where boundaries and stereotypes are abandoned, and the accent is on individuality. The club explores architecture from all kinds of unusual viewpoints, which not only allows children to learn to express themselves creatively, but also brings together a number of closely related and totally unexpected competencies.
The children are equal co-authors of the process. Class leaders communicate with children as they would with adult members of a creative team. They do not help with tasks that children are physically able to do themselves, nor do they provide suggestions or assess work.
