The MoscowUrban FEST will be held at Zaryadye on 4–7 July 2019. This year's theme is City/Attention/Umwelt
'This year, we're going to examine the umwelts of Moscow', says festival director Arina Drobina. 'We will help its residents see another side of Moscow and fall in love with it even more deeply than ever before. The concept of umwelt means that the world we see and perceive as our only reality is absolutely individual and is a result of us adapting our senses to specific goals and tasks. We all see and feel the city in our own way'.
The Festival's programme includes more than 100 educational and cultural events. Get inspired and energised at the breakfast lectures organised by CreativeMornings Moscow and the FITMOST training sessions. In the afternoon, visitors can attend debates on current issues of the city, presentations by the best speakers of PechaKucha on how and why we see and feel the city in different ways, and unique film screenings by BeatFilm.
Caitlin Doughty, author of the best-selling book 'From Here to Eternity', will give a lecture on funeral traditions around the world. Young visitors to the Festival will be offered a host of activities, from master classes conducted by the Mashtabium architecture studio to exciting science shows about the illusory nature of our world, organised by the Living Systems museum. POLYΛRUS will help design a limited collection of uniquely styled eco-bags dedicated to MoscowUrban FEST.
The Festival will culminate in a big open-air concert night at Zaryadye, featuring the funk-soul band The Soul Surfers and experimental musician Daniel Brandt.
Admission to MoscowUrban FEST is free.
