The business programme of the Moscow Urban Forum 2019 has been announced
The business programme of the Moscow Urban Forum, to be held from the 4th-7th of July in Moscow park Zaryadye, has been announced. Registration for the event closes on the 20th of June.

The sessions of the business programme will take place on the 4th and 5th of July. During these two days, more than 300 speakers will participate, including leading world architects, the mayors of large megacities, the leaders of iconic international mega-projects, and the representatives of global corporations. Speakers include: the mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Ahmad Dahlan, the Dutch architect and urbanist, Reinier de Graaf, member of the top 100 most prominent innovators in the field of urban development according to Future Cities, Robert Cervero, the chairman of the Boston Consulting Group, Hans-Paul Bürkner, the president of the Japanese company Nikken Sekkei, Tadao Kamei, the founder of MVRDV, one of the world's leading architectural firms, Dutchman, Winy Maas, the French architect, Dominique Alba, the general director of TomTom and innovator, Harold Goddijn, architect and member of the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects (BNA), Mels Crouwel, the founder of the New York Institute for the Humanities and Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to design, Richard Sennett, the general director of the Singapore natural park Gardens by the Bay, Felix Loh, the general director of the nonprofit organisation Project for Public Spaces (PPS), Phil Myrick, and others. 

The Moscow Urban Forum 2019 'The Quality of Life. Projects for a Better City' focuses on the discussion of issues and the presentation of initiatives of city administrations, businesses, and citizens aimed at ensuring a balanced and sustainable development of cities and improving the quality of life by implementing large-scale projects. 

As the mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin, wrote on Twitter, 'Moscow is no longer a city of factories, as was the case in the 80s. Today we care about the quality of life. This will be the main topic of #MUF2019. You can already view the business programme and apply for participation'. 

'The programme of the MUF 2019 focuses on the quality of life of urban residents, projects from Moscow and the world's megacities aimed at improving life in the cities. The first day of the forum is dedicated to housing and urban environment, the second day – to transport and urban development strategies', said the General Director of the Forum, Denis Boykov. 

The Urban Health congress, devoted to the integration of health principles (one of the main indicators of the quality of life) in all areas of urban development, will be held for the first time as part of the business programme. 

The session of the first day will deal with the topics of a comfortable urban environment as a driver of urban economy, the management of urban efficiency, how to develop a balanced housing policy in the fast-growing Moscow agglomeration, how architects see modern housing and how the urban environment affects the psychological state of its residents. 

The events of the second day will be devoted to the discussion of the priorities in the transport policy of megacities, the development plan of the Moscow Central Diameters, innovative tourism strategies of megacities, and how to improve the quality of life by reducing resource consumption. Overall, the business programme will include over 70 special events: round tables, interviews, discussions, presentations, debates and talk shows.
