Co-founder and honorary member of the World Future Council, consultant and author of more than 10 books on sustainable urban development (Germany)   Professor Herbert Girardet is a co-founder and an honorary member of the World Future Council, consultant and author of more than 10 books on sustainable urban development, laureate of the UN Clobal 500 Award for outstanding achievements in the field of environmental protection. He is also one of 100 members of the Club of Rome, an international public organization engaged in the study and analysis of global problems worldwide. Girarde was a consultant to UN-Habitat and the United Nations Environment Program, developed sustainable development concepts for cities such as London, Vienna and Bristol, developed a national renewable energy policy in the UK and Australia, and worked in China and the Middle East . Girarde is an honorary member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and patron of the Soil Association of Great Britain. In the 80's and 90's he released more than 50 documentaries on the environment. He is the author and co-author of 13 books on ecology and sustainable development, and his latest book Creating regenerative cities was named the best "green" book by the Huffington Post.
