Charles Renfro

Partner, Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R)

Charles Renfro is a partner at Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R), the interdisciplinary design studio that led the design consortium for Zaryadye Park in Moscow. 

The studio’s major public space works includes the High Line and the transformation of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, both in New York.  Recently completed projects include The Broad contemporary art museum in Los Angeles; the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley; and the Vagelos Education Center at Columbia University in New York. 

Currently, Charles is leading the design of The Museum of Image and Sound in Rio de Janeiro, the Tianjin Juilliard School in Tianjin, China; and Adelaide Contemporary, a new gallery and public sculpture park in South, Australia. 

Charles is the recipient of Wall Street Journal Magazine's 2017 Architecture Innovator of the Year Award, the Texas Medal of the Arts Award, and is a National Academy Academician. He is the President of the Board at Storefront for Art & Architecture in New York and is a faculty member of the School of Visual Arts.
