Beyond an early internship at StellaRichter+Ochoa with whom he won the OPPTA competition, he got a Special Mention for the Europan 13 Trondheim with Protocol Collective, NL based firm of which he was founding member.
In 2016 he co-founded aut--aut, a dynamic architectural practice combining several young professionals in an open, non-hierarchical way. The office is based in Rome, while keeping an international perspective and worldwide relations. Context understanding is the fundamental precondition in aut--aut's approach, definable as strategic and devoted to a cultural production which aims to propel social enhancement.
At its early stages aut--aut won the ideas competition "London Nursery School of the future" with the project Nursery Fields Forever raising a huge resonance on the media. Nursery Fields Forever grew up and became an autonomous organization (led by aut--aut's members). Currently NFF is defining an easily replicable and sustainable construction system. In addition to the architectural commitment, NFF's experts in children education and permaculture are developing a series of guidelines that have to be followed in order to run schools in line with the educational approach proposed.
Jonathan Lazar holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Sapienza University of Rome, and a BSc in Architecture from Roma Tre University. In 2014 he gets an MSc degree cum laude in Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences from TU Delft (NL).
