Fan Zhang

Fan Zhang is director of Shanghai Urban Planning in Design and Research Institute. His work is mainly about urban planning and administration, land development, plan and design. He was Deputy Chief Engineer of Shanghai Planning and Land Resource Administration Bureau, the Director of the Detailed Planning and Management Office, Deputy Director of the Leadership Group Office of the Huangpu River, Shanghai, and Vice President of the Shanghai Shenjiang River Development and Construction Investment (Group) Co., Ltd.

He is a leading expert in urban planning and design projects including Shanghai Master Plan 2017-2035, The Construction Plan of Zhangjiang Science City, the Detailed Planning of Pudong Expo Cultural Park, the Plan of Waterfront Areas on the Both Sides of Huangpu River, Shanghai Aged Care Facilities Plan and the Shanghai Street Design Guidelines. He has edited books including "Reshaping Huangpu River", "Huangpu River: Ten Years", “Asian Cities: Planning and Development”. He has been also involved in the formulation of "Measures for the Implementation of Urban Renewal in Shanghai". He was awarded the Shanghai Decision Consultation Achievement Award, the Shanghai Outstanding Urban and Rural Planning and Design Award, and the Shanghai Outstanding Engineering Consulting Achievement Award.
