Rem Koolhaas

Koolhaas is one of the founders and theorists of deconstructivism, laureate of the Pritzker Prize (2000) and Golden Lion Prize at the Venice Biennale of Architecture (2010), and Professor of Harvard University. In 1975, he founded the OMA architectural bureau.

In 1999, Koolhaas created AMO, a research and branding studio for architecture projects focusing on media, politics, renewable energy sources, and fashion. Koolhaas is also one of the inspirators and creators of the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design, which opened its doors in Moscow in 2010, and was in charge of the Institute's educational programme from 2010 to 2012.

He curated the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2014. Currently, he is in charge of the Countryside exhibition in the Guggenheim Museum set to open in 2019. In February 2018, Koolhaas presented the architectural concept for the State Tretyakov Gallery building on Krymsky Val in Moscow.

Prominent completed projects: The Qatar National Library and Headquarters of the Qatar Foundation (2018), the Galeries Lafayette Corporate Foundation in Paris (2018), the Fondazione Prada Exhibition Center in Milan (2015/2018), the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow (2015), Casa da Musica (House of Music) in Porto (2005), Seattle Central Library (2004).

Current projects: Taipei Performing Arts Center, Guest-House Axel Springer in Berlin.
