Alexander Lewald

Alexander Lewald has been an executive board member and CTO of Kapsch TrafficCom AG (listed at Vienna stock exchange) from November 2015 til end of April 2019. Since then, he is an executive advisor to Kapsch. Furthermore, he is engaging in sustainable transport as an advisor, investor and entrepreneur. He is fascinated by the idea to give cities back to the people. 
Following his studies in electrical engineering at the Technical University of Munich (“TUM”), Mr. Lewald worked for three years at the DLR (German Research Center for Aerospace & Aeronautics) at the Institute for Robotics and System Dynamics. During this time, Mr. Lewald wrote his Ph.D. thesis about optimal trajectories of multi-axle robots and he received his doctorate with magna cum laude from the Technical Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. With support of the German Research Foundation, he joined Stanford Engineering School, Palo Alto, US as a post-doctoral fellow. He worked 5 years for McKinsey & Company, followed by 15 years in various management positions at Kappa IT Ventures, Gilde IT, SAP and Parametric Technology Corp.
