Irina May is the member of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology, International Society for Exposition Studies. Irina's scientific and practical interests include the development and implementation of a methodological approach to evaluating the impacts of chemical and physical factors on public health including the specifics of the territory, assessing the risks to public health, spatio-temporal methods of sanitary and hygienic analysis, sociological research, product safety.
Irina May participated in environmental spatial analysis for a number of Russian territories with poor environmental conditions, developing programmes of biomedical rehabilitation for the public, creating recommendations for preparing a site plan for the city of Perm.
Irina May is member of an expert group of international projects such as Technical Assistance for the CIS and Supplemental Environmental Programme, as an auditor for environmental certification, and also a member of regional working group for developing regulations for the permitted overall impact on the environment.
