Hazem Galal is a PwC Partner and the global Leader for PwC’s Cities and Local Government Sector. With 25 years of consulting experience, Hazem has expertise in strategy formulation and implementation for cities and local government entities. He supported several city projects in the United States, Middle East, Latin America, Asia, Africa and Europe, which gives him an edge of expertise in both developed and developing countries conditions. Hazem worked with cities around the world such as New York, Amsterdam, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Astana, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Moscow and Sochi. He’s currently the co-chair for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development group that is contributing to the ISO standard for cities and smart infrastructure.
Since 2007, Hazem has been leading and contributing to PwC’s global Thought Leadership for cities and local government including the latest report “iUrban: Innovative City Strategies for Sustainable Competitiveness”, “Investor Ready Cities” and “It’s how you play the game” (on hosting mega events). Hazem is a frequent speaker at numerous global conferences and panels on cities organized by the World Cities Summit, World Bank, Sports Accord, World Islamic Economic Forum, the Asian Development Bank, the United Nations and other international bodies as well as local and national governments in developed and developing countries, including the BRICS and a frequent expert on leading media channels such as the BBC, CNBC, Russia Today and Channel News Asia.
