Marit van Lenthe

President, Médecins Sans Frontières, Holland; Chair, Council of MSF’s Operational Centre Amsterdam

Marit has 15 years of clinical experience in the Netherlands and abroad and 9 years of senior management experience in International Public Health. She graduated as a Medical Doctor and specialized as a General Practitioner and later as a Tropical Doctor. She holds a Master in International Health.
Before her presidency, Marit worked with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) from 2003 until September 2018, first in the field and after an interruption, from 2009 in Amsterdam as Health Advisor. As advisor, Marit supported OCA programs in Ethiopia, Nigeria, Somalia, Iraq, Myanmar and DR Congo. She was the malaria advisor for OCA and still does research on malaria. She is currently also the Deputy Director of the training institute for Global Health and Tropical Medicine in Holland.
Marit’s expertise includes strategic analysis and advice of global and public health dilemma's, health policy analysis, health policy change management and implementation, malaria care, policy development, monitoring and evaluation and cross-cultural communication.
