Robert Cervero chaired the department of City and Regional Planning at the University of California and directed the Institute of Urban and Regional Development and the University of California Transportation Center. His research focuses on sustainable transportation policy and the nexus between urban transportation and land-use systems. Cervero is the author of numerous books and articles in these areas, including the recently released Beyond Mobility. Currently, he is working with AECOM on a study of transit joint development for the US Transit Cooperative Research Program, advising on sustainable urban development in Singapore, and a faculty affiliate at NYU-Abu Dhabi and Tongji University in Shanghai, and advising on sustainable development in Singapore and Dubai.
Robert Cervero was a contributing author to the IPCC (International Panel on Climate Change) Fifth Assessment and UN-Habitat’s Global Report on Sustainable Mobility.
In 2013 was ranked among the top 100 City Innovators Worldwide by UMB’s Futures Cities.
