Rufus is responsible for BRE’s international strategy. BRE is a world leading, multi-disciplinary, building science centre with a mission to improve buildings and infrastructure, through research and knowledge generation. BRE’s research, testing, certification and advisory services are delivered to over eighty countries.
Rufus led the consortium bidding to establish and run the UK Government’s funded Knowledge Transfer Network for the Modern Built Environment (MBEKTN). Having been successful in winning this work for BRE, Rufus was charged with establishing the MBEKTN and leading its delivery. Other work has included leading BRE’s expansion to new locations, which resulted in the creation of BRE Wales, the BRE China business and recently BRE work in India. Rufus has been involved with numerous strategic projects for the BRE, including the establishment of the BRE Innovation Park in 2005 at BRE’s HQ, Watford, England.
Prior to joining BRE in 2002, Rufus worked for Scottish Enterprise, the economic development agency for Scotland, with responsibility for supporting Scotland’s Forest Industry Cluster.
