Sanna Vesikansa

Deputy Mayor for Social Services and Health Care

Sanna Vesikansa is responsible for social affairs and public health. She represents the Greens. Ms Vesikansa has also been member of the city council for 10 years, and has held many positions in the city of Helsinki, e.g. member of the city board and chair of various committees.
Before her current position, Ms Vesikansa worked at Save the Children Finland in the international programmes as an advocacy advisor from 2011 to 2014. Before joining that organization, she worked at the international affairs unit of the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) in many roles from 2009 to 2014.
Ms Vesikansa worked at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Ethiopia Office as a programme officer (communication) from 2005 to 2007.
Ms Vesikansa holds a Master of Social Sciences (Sociology) from the University of Helsinki (1999).
