Sergei Tchoban

Sergei Tchoban is a Russian and German architect working in various cities in Europe and Russia. Member of the Association of German Architects (BDA), the Union of Architects of Russia and the Union of Artists of Russia, Academician of the Moscow Branch of the International Academy of Architecture and Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts. Winner of architectural awards and participant in various architectural exhibitions.

In 2006, by merging with the S. P. Project Bureau, Sergei founded the SPEECH architectural association together with Sergey Kuznetsov and Pavel Shaburov, and became its managing partner. In 2008, in collaboration with Sergey Kuznetsov, he founded the SPEECH architectural magazine. In 2009, he founded the Tchoban Foundation Museum for Architectural Drawing.

Twice curated the Russian pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale: in 2010, he implemented the Factory Russia project (together with Sergey Kuznetsov, Pavel Khoroshilov and GrigoryRevzin) as part of the exhibition, and in 2012, managed the i-city/i-land project (together with pavilion commissioner GrigoryRevzin, and co-curators Sergey Kuznetsov and Valeria Kashirina), which for the first time in history brought Russia home the special jury prize ofthe Architectural Biennale.

From 2009 to 2011, he served as a member and Chairman of the Urban Development Council of Linz (Austria). He has been a member of the Skolkovo Foundation Urban Development Council since 2011. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Architectural Council of the Moscow City Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning. From 2013 to 2014, he supervised the diploma studio of the MARCH Architectural School (Moscow).
