Creative Industries Fund that Syb Groeneveld leads strives to make a substantial contribution to the quality of professional design practice within and especially between the disciplines of architecture, design and digital culture. Part of this endeavour is the interdisciplinary interplay between the cultural, social and economic domains. The fund, financed by the Dutch miinistry of Culture, has an annual budget of €19 million and supports per year approximately 600 exceptional and innovative projects and activities of designers, makers and cultural institutions in the creative industries.
Apart from an MA in political science (University of Amsterdam), Syb obtained an MBA through the Maastricht School of Management. He previously served as a member of the board for the Kennisland think tank and as Head of New Media for the Dutch Cultural Media Fund. Since the start of his career, Syb is fascinated how technology, culture and society interact and how a healthy environment for social innovations can be created.
