Sofia Trotsenko

Founder, Center for contemporary art "Winzavod"

In 2007, Sofia Trotsenko established and led the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art, which became one of the first and largest art clusters in Russia that support and develop contemporary art.

Sofia Trotsenko is a public figure, the founder of the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art and Director of the School of Design at the RANEPA Institute of Social Sciences. She initiated the launch of a number of projects aimed at discovering and supporting new figures in contemporary Russian art — START and Open Studios; Best of Russia, which is the largest Russian photo project exploring the state and development of Russian photography; and Winzavod.Open, intended to present strategies for the educational process, the results of advanced educational initiatives, and also to make the field of education an open and accessible system.

Taking up the position of Director for the RANEPA School of Design, Sofia Trotsenko focused on experimental and cutting-edge programs aimed at forming a new language in art and at applying current modern design practices, which have become a new area of growth for the School. The School's focus areas include: environmental design, graphic design, art business management, fashion business management, urban and territorial management.
