Darya is a co-founder of the maternal mental health project "Berezhno k Sebe", a doula and a clinical psychologist.
Since the early 2010s, she has participated in research and developmental projects aimed at building urban spaces for children.
She initiated a study of playgrounds in cooperation with psychologists from Moscow State University of Psychology and Education.
She has cooperated with developers to prepare guidelines for architects.
She developed Russia's first training programme on urban spaces for children, This Is the Where Kids Play, with the support of the MARSH architectural school, Archpolic, and Naked Hearts.
From 2015 to 2019, Darya served as an invited expert of UNICEF Kazakhstan for the Child Friendly Cities programme.
Since 2019, she has focused her efforts on the #Berezhnoksebe project, a media initiative that supports women who've experienced challenging maternal experiences.
She understands first-hand how an urban environment can affect the mental health of mothers and supports initiatives aimed at developing urban spaces that are friendly not only to children but to parents as well.
