Xenia Adjoubei is an architect and educator, and works between London and Moscow. She leads an education and research centre in Nikola-Lenivets Art Park, the largest Art Park in Europe. The Nikola-Lenivets Classroom is a centre for research and education on the future of rural culture and the natural environment in post-rural and post-labour contexts, as well as on ideas of economic degrowth.
Xenia is the lead researcher of the Global Free Unit international educational programme, which aims to tackle planetary-scale challenges through collective design and complex modelling. Xenia runs the Moscow office of Scott-WhitbyStudio, with architecture projects in culture, residential and education sectors, and teaches at Moscow Architecture School, MARCH.
Xenia’s research and curatorial projects cover topics such as The Virtual Museum, The New Rural: designing a contemporary village, and Art as Labour: physical labour and craft in a post-work future.
