Vladimir Potapov is the head of VTB Capital Investments, the investment management platform of VTB Group. Providing all types of money management solutions to clients. VTB Capital Investments unites: the largest management companies for Russian and international investors, brokerage services for retail clients, brokerage services for institutional investors, and FX services for individuals. Since 2018, under Vladimir’s leadership, total Assets under Management has quadrupled and now exceeds RUB 4 tn. The client base has grown 4.7x to over 1.5 m. The business continued to thrive in 2020 despite the pandemic: assets grew by 74%, the number of customers by 66%, and revenue by 93% to RUB 22 bn. Total trade turnover tripled to RUB 23 tn. The business pays special attention to the VTB My Investments mobile application, the flagship digital product of VTB Capital Investments. The number of users in 2020 increased 4x and now exceeds 1 m, the number of active customers per day increased 5x to 260 k. The number of in-app transactions quadrupled in 2020. The VTB My Investments App saw significant improvements in 2020 with the following added: the opportunity to use artificial intelligence to form portfolios through the roboadvisor; a new "investment targets” service; and the ability to participate in primary (IPO) and secondary (SPO) placements on the Moscow Exchange. Sovcomflot's IPO was the first IPO made available via a mobile investment app in Russia. In 4Q20, the ability to participate in OTC IPOs was also added, as well as the ability to connect various investment consulting services to different sub-accounts, along with support for reflecting funds credited under the new "Investments" bonus option. VTB Capital Investments is developing as a socially responsible business. For the first time in Russia, funds with built-in charity were launched in 2020 along with a policy of responsible investment taking into account sustainable development factors and excluding investments in companies with unacceptable ESG risks.
